Empowering Yourself with Clay, Dreams, Breath and Journeying

If you’ve been following our blog, you know that over these many months we’ve been exploring
the myriad ways by which we can actualize and empower ourselves.  We’ve offered many
concepts, approaches and tools for you to experiment with, embrace and take to new levels.
Over the next several weeks, we’ll be revisiting the Elements, how they relate to empowerment
and specifically how you can work with them in our upcoming weekend workshop, and become
your own Alchemist!. (http://www.voiceofclay.com/classes-2/)
We’ll begin the weekend with a series of experiences with clay – exploring our relationship with
the Earth element and the ways in which it grounds, heals and empowers us.  We’ll swim in the
sea of the unconscious, and explore many techniques for receiving and understanding the
important messages to be found in that Watery realm of dreams. We’ll use the element of Air
intentionally as we learn the various methods of breathing that bring us greater clarity, broaden
and deepen our consciousness, and heal our unresolved traumas. Then we’ll embrace the spirit
of Fire, and practice the shaman’s way of traveling to other worlds and finding solutions to
everyday problems, and healing for the ills of self and others.

Earth – A key element in alchemy is manifestation.  Until something is made manifest, it isn’t
measurable or tangible – it can’t be experienced with all the senses.  It is said in metaphysics
that Earth is a manifesting planet.  Earth by definition is one of the essential elements in
alchemy.

Water – Without water life is dry and brittle, and we cannot flow into and hold our proper form.
Water suggests depth. When we‘re willing to ‘plumb the depths’, to break the surface, delve into
and explore our emotional wisdom, we are free to find our sunken treasure!

Air – The element of Air is associated with the intellect, communication style, thoughts and
beliefs, and like the wind, how we move ourselves around through life. Air allows us to
contemplate, think things through and to act consciously. Air also suggests that formless place
above it all that’s called Heaven. Of course, all of this is dependent on the quality of our breath!

Fire – Fire is the element of heat, passion, purification, spirit. “The most powerful weapon on
earth is the human soul on fire.” – Ferdinand Foch  “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the
lighting of a fire.” – William Butler Yeats  “Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and
bring tears from the eyes of woman.” – Ludwig van Beethoven  “Just as a candle cannot burn
without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.” – Buddha

Join Wendy Walter and Donna Robinson on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th in
Brookline New Hampshire for an alchemical experience! Together we will engage deeply with
clay, dreams, breathing and shamanic journeying. As we listen to and truly see ourselves and
each other, we’ll discover both our similarities and our uniqueness. We’ll open our minds to new
ideas and nourish our souls with laughter. As we spend the weekend together, share meals and
hearts, we’ll feel that sense of community that lives when a group of people gather for a shared
purpose.
